This page explains how to delete your account and data from ClipNote.
Quick Summary
For most users: Your data is stored locally on your device. Simply uninstall the ClipNote app to delete all your data.
For Business & Professional users with cloud storage: Email us to request cloud data deletion.
How Your Data is Stored
ClipNote stores data differently depending on your subscription tier:
- All Users: All recordings, transcripts, and meeting data are stored only on your device. We do not store your data on our servers.
- Business & Professional Users (with cloud opt-in): If you opted in to cloud storage, your data is stored on our secure servers and automatically deleted after 90 days.
How to Delete Your Data
For All Users
Open your device settings
Go to Settings → Apps → ClipNote
Uninstall the app
Tap "Uninstall" or "Delete App"
Done!
All your local data (recordings, transcripts, meetings) is now deleted from your device.
Note: Since your data is stored only on your device, uninstalling the app permanently removes all your ClipNote data.
For Business & Professional Users with Cloud Storage
If you're a Business or Professonal tier subscriber and opted in to cloud storage, follow these steps:
- Request cloud data deletion using one of the methods below
- We will delete your cloud data within 30 days
- Uninstall the app to remove local data from your device
- Receive confirmation email when deletion is complete
Note: Cloud data is automatically deleted after 90 days even if you don't request deletion.

When requesting data deletion, please provide:
- Email address associated with your account
- User ID (if you know it)
- Brief reason for deletion
- Whether you're a Business tier user with cloud storage
What Gets Deleted?
Local Data (All Users)
- All audio and video recordings
- Meeting transcripts and summaries
- Meeting titles and metadata
- App settings and preferences
Cloud Data (Business & Professional Users Only)
- Cloud-stored recordings and transcripts
- Account profile information
- Subscription and payment history
- Usage analytics and logs
Response Time
We respond to all deletion requests within:
- Acknowledgment: Within 48 hours
- Deletion completion: Within 30 days (GDPR compliant)
- Confirmation email: Sent when deletion is complete
⚠️ Important Information
- Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
- You will lose access to all your recordings and transcripts
- Active subscriptions will not be automatically refunded
- You can create a new account at any time after deletion

We retain data for the following periods:
- Local data: Until you uninstall the app
- Cloud data: 90 days (automatic deletion)
- Payment records: As required by law (typically 7 years)
- Legal compliance data: As required by applicable laws
